
National bus services begin operations between Kabul and Paktia provinces
National bus services have begun operating between Kabul and Paktia provinces in eastern Afghanistan, according to announcements from state entities.
The State-owned Enterprises Authority of the Taliban administration stated that the 'National Bus' services started on the second of Hamal in the current solar year, enabling passengers to travel safely, securely and regularly on the approximately 100-120 kilometer route from Kabul to Gardez, the capital of Paktia, which typically takes two to three hours. The authority emphasized that the services aim to facilitate citizens' travel with cheap and high-quality options, reviving a previous network weakened by past wars.
Officials from the Emirati National Bus Company, as reported by Hurriyat, said the services launched on the second of Wray month on the Kabul-Paktia main road, offering regular, safe and comfortable travel. The General Directorate of Emirati Companies described the initiative as a step to provide more services and facilities to the public, with accelerated efforts to make travel cheaper and accessible to all passengers.
The National Bus Company also confirmed the start of operations between the two provinces, according to RTA.
The route connects the centers of Kabul and Paktia provinces, supporting improved intercity transportation.
