National Examinations Head Announces 1405 Konkor Exam Schedule Starting 21 Saur

KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Abdul Baqi Haqqani, head of the National Examinations Administration, announced the schedule for the 1405 Konkor university entrance exams, to be held in four phases.

The first round will take place on 21 Saur in 15 provinces, followed by the second round on 28 Saur in 18 provinces, the third on 12 Jowza and a supplementary round on 22 Jowza.

Afghanistan International reported the third round will be held in Kabul, while estimating around 120,000 participants competing for 74,505 spots in higher education institutions out of a general intake capacity of 111,885.

Omid Radio detailed planned admissions including 59,460 general education graduates and 2,400 madrasa graduates to higher education, 8,585 in specialized fields and 4,006 to evening programs, for a total of approximately 74,451 spots.

The outlet also stated that exam questions will be prepared by teachers proficient in students' native languages, eliminating the need for translation.

Afghanistan International noted that girls have been banned from university entrance exams and access since 29 Qaws 1401, depriving more than 100,000 young women of higher education according to UNESCO.
