KABUL — Afghanistan's National Statistics and Information Authority verified the identities of 20,071 Afghan migrants residing in Iran over the past solar year.
The verifications took place at centers in the Iranian cities of Zahedan and Mashhad. A total of 9,253 identities were confirmed in Zahedan, while 10,818 were verified in Mashhad. Relevant cards were distributed to the migrants following the process.
In a separate effort during solar year 1404, the authority verified the identities of 2,472,410 people inside Afghanistan.
The National Statistics and Information Authority is tasked with identity verification, scanning of documents, digitization, archiving, and providing information on the authenticity of identification documents.
