Nearly 2,000 hospitalized in Israel since start of Iran missile attacks
Israel’s Ministry of Health reported that at least 1,929 people have been taken to hospitals since Iran began missile and drone attacks following joint strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian nuclear and missile facilities.
According to the ministry, 157 people were admitted to hospitals within the past 24 hours as emergency services responded to repeated missile alerts and air raid sirens. Officials said nine of the injured remain in critical condition, 42 are in moderate condition, and about 70 others suffered minor injuries requiring medical treatment.
Health authorities noted that many injuries occurred as civilians rushed toward shelters or safe areas during incoming missile warnings, leading to falls, collisions, and other accidental injuries. The ministry added that most hospitalizations were linked to indirect injuries rather than direct missile strikes, with relatively fewer casualties from direct impacts.
The conflict has entered its second week, with Iran launching waves of missiles and drones toward Israeli territory and other regional targets, prompting repeated air defense responses and widespread civilian shelter alerts.
Meanwhile, Iranian authorities, including the Iranian Red Crescent Society, reported that more than 1,300 people have been killed in Iran since the conflict began.
