New Girls' School Handed Over in Farah Province

Officials in Farah province have announced the completion and official handover of a new two-story school building for girls in Charbagh village, located in the provincial center. The facility was constructed over a period of nearly three years following requests from local residents and in coordination with the provincial Education Directorate.

Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Habibzai, head of the provincial Department of Refugees and Repatriation Affairs, provided details on the project during a recent handover event. He confirmed that the construction was fully funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees at a total cost of $345,000.

Habibzai outlined the specifications of the newly completed campus, noting that it contains 16 classrooms and 10 restrooms. The grounds are enclosed by a 275-meter perimeter wall and include a dedicated guard room and a student playground. To support daily operations and ensure reliable utilities, the facility is equipped with a 100-meter deep well, a 10-cubic-meter water reservoir, and a 10-kilowatt solar power system.

The project concludes a multi-year development effort aimed at improving educational infrastructure in the area. Provincial education officials will now manage the building’s daily operations and coordinate student enrollment for the upcoming academic terms.
