'No Kings' Protests Against Trump Policies Draw Over 3,200 Events Across US States

Protests under the "No Kings" banner against U.S. President Donald Trump's immigration deportations, potential conflict with Iran and other policies took place on Saturday in more than 3,200 locations across all 50 states, organizers said. The events marked the third round of nationwide demonstrations, following two prior protests that drew millions of participants, according to Reuters.

Large rallies occurred in cities including New York, Dallas, Philadelphia and Washington. Two-thirds of the events were held outside major urban areas, with participation in smaller communities rising 40% compared to the first protest in June last year.

Actor Robert De Niro addressed crowds, calling Trump an "existential threat."

In Minnesota, demonstrators gathered outside the St. Paul capitol with posters depicting U.S. citizens Renee Good and Alex Petty, who were killed by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis this year.

Governor Tim Walz spoke at the Minnesota rally, describing protesters as "radicalized by compassion, decency, due process, democracy" in opposing authoritarianism.

Senator Bernie Sanders told the crowd, "We will not allow this country to fall into authoritarianism or oligarchy."

Bruce Springsteen performed his song "Streets of Minneapolis" at the event, criticizing Trump's immigration policies.

Mike Marinella, spokesman for the Republican National Congressional Committee, condemned the protests as a "hate America rally."
