Over 14,000 Afghan Pilgrims Transported to Medina for Hajj

The Afghan Ministry of Guidance, Hajj and Endowments has confirmed that 14,293 Afghan pilgrims have been transported to Medina across 46 flights as part of the annual Hajj operations. According to ministry statements, additional flights are scheduled from Herat and Kandahar, with further departures planned to Jeddah to complete the transport of remaining pilgrims from the western zone.

Upon arrival in Medina, the pilgrims will perform 40 prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque before traveling to Mecca for the main pilgrimage rituals. To facilitate the process, the ministry has deployed 300 dedicated mission staff members to Saudi Arabia and appointed 150 Afghan residents in the kingdom to various Hajj service committees. These teams are tasked with managing logistics, providing direct assistance, and ensuring the welfare of the pilgrims throughout their stay.

Coordination efforts between Afghan and Saudi officials have continued ahead of the pilgrimage season. A ministry delegation led by Mawlawi Mohammad Hamid Hasib recently held talks in Kabul with Faisal Talq al-Baqumi to review operational arrangements and strengthen bilateral cooperation. Ministry representatives noted that flight schedules and ground support services are being closely monitored to maintain an organized and secure transport process for all registered participants. Officials emphasized that all procedures are proceeding according to established timelines.
