Statements from the Taliban's Supreme Commission on Refugees indicate that Pakistan deported 19,383 Afghan migrants between 18 and 24 Dalwa. Additionally, 958 individuals were deported from Iran during the same period, with most returns being forced.
The migrants returned through border crossings including Torkham, Spin Boldak, Bahram Chah, Abreshim and Islam Qala.
In the preceding week, from 10 to 17 Dalwa, Pakistan had deported 14,576 Afghan migrants.
Afghanistan has seen a significant increase in migrant deportations from neighboring countries, particularly Pakistan, over the nearly two years. The United Nations previously reported that approximately 2.6 million migrants returned to Afghanistan in 2025, warning that such large-scale returns place heavy pressure on the country's limited resources and humanitarian capacities.
