Pakistan PPP Provincial Head Urges Dialogue to Resolve Afghanistan-Pakistan Disputes

NOWSHERA, Pakistan — Mia Iftikhar Hussain, provincial head of the Pakistan Peoples Party, called for regional and international mediation to establish a lasting ceasefire between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Speaking at a press club in Nowshera on Thursday, Hussain urged both countries to halt fighting, respect each other's sovereignty, combat terrorism within their own borders, and resolve differences through dialogue.

He expressed concern over ceasefire violations that occurred during Eid, warning that ongoing tensions without dialogue could escalate into an uncontrollable conflict.

Hussain emphasized the need for diplomacy and third-party involvement to prevent further deterioration of relations between the neighboring states.

His remarks come amid persistent cross-border frictions, highlighting the importance of mutual cooperation against terrorism and adherence to agreed ceasefires.
