Pakistan's Special Representative Discusses Human Rights in Afghanistan with EU Envoy
KABUL (Hasht-e Subh) -- Mohammad Sadiq, Pakistan's special representative, held an online discussion with Gilles Bertrand, the European Union's special representative for Afghanistan, on the human rights situation in the country.
Sadiq stated on Thursday, Feb. 26, that the conversation also covered the political and security situation in the region. Although the focus was on human rights, the two envoys discussed terrorism and related threats, according to Sadiq.
This comes after Islamabad's recent airstrikes on Afghanistan, following which Sadiq has engaged with representatives from Uzbekistan, Iran, and the EU's Afghanistan envoy on security threats.
Bertrand had previously told Hasht-e Subh in an interview that the "Taliban courts' penal code" institutionalizes social inequality.
