
Prophethood Claimant Arrested in Badghis Province
KABUL — The Ministry of Commanding Good and Forbidding Wrong and Hearing Complaints announced the arrest of a man identified as Ghiyasuddin in Qads district of Badghis province for claiming prophethood and divine inspiration.
Maulvi Saif al-Salam Khyber, spokesman for the ministry, provided details on the case, stating that muhtasibs carried out an initial mental health assessment of Ghiyasuddin and deemed him mentally healthy.
Khyber said the suspect will be handed over to a Sharia court for further legal proceedings.
The ministry's announcement highlights ongoing efforts to address claims that contravene religious principles in the region. No additional details on the circumstances leading to the arrest were immediately provided.
