Rains and Floods Damage 57 Houses, Farmland in Maidan Wardak Province
Recent rains and floods from the 10th to the 14th of Wray month have struck various areas of Maidan Wardak province, causing extensive damage, according to the Directorate of Disaster Management and Preparedness.
The directorate reported that 57 houses were affected, including 35 that were completely destroyed and 22 that sustained partial damage. Around 32 jeribs of agricultural land were also damaged in the affected areas.
Casualties included one child killed and another injured due to the rains and flooding, the directorate said.
Officials emphasized that these figures are preliminary and that the full extent of losses may be greater as assessments continue.
