Seasonal rains and snow have inflicted heavy damage across several districts in Afghanistan's Maidan Wardak province, destroying residential homes, causing financial losses to agricultural lands and stranding vehicles.
According to the press office of the Maidan Wardak provincial police commandership, the weather affected Band Check, Daimirdad, Jalrez and Behsud districts. In Band Check district's Khawat, Arabano and Baksmand areas, as well as Nodl and Garm Ab areas of Daimirdad district, homes were destroyed, creating serious problems for affected families.
Heavy rains also led to vehicles going off roads in Jalrez and Behsud districts, disrupting travel. Security officials in those districts responded promptly, providing assistance and transferring stranded individuals to safe locations to prevent injuries.
The inclement weather, which occurred overnight, also resulted in destruction of agricultural lands and broader financial losses throughout the province.
