Red Cross and Red Crescent Officials Arrive in Kabul

The Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Jagan Chapagain, and the federation's head for Afghanistan, Hossam Faisal, arrived in Kabul to evaluate the activities and services of the Afghan Red Crescent Society. The visit also aims to share information on humanitarian needs and priorities with international partners and organizations.

During the trip, Jagan Chapagain met with Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar, head of the Afghan Red Crescent Society. Chapagain assured continued humanitarian aid and cooperation with the Afghan organization.

Afghan Red Crescent officials stated that wars and natural disasters have created extensive humanitarian needs across the country. They noted that international support remains essential for delivering emergency aid and developing services.

The delegation's schedule centers on reviewing current operations and identifying opportunities for stronger coordination with global humanitarian groups. Discussions focused on aligning aid efforts with the most pressing requirements identified by local partners.

This engagement reflects ongoing efforts to maintain international ties in support of humanitarian work inside Afghanistan. Both the visiting officials and Afghan Red Crescent representatives expressed interest in sustaining collaboration to address challenges from conflict and disasters.
