Residential Plots Distributed to Returnee Migrants in Logar

Officials in Logar province have begun the distribution of residential plots to families of returnee migrants. The initiative involves the allocation of 1,025 plots across a total area of approximately 900 jeribs of land. According to the distribution plan, each returning family is allocated 5 biswas of land to establish a home.

The distribution process was overseen by Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Mawlawi Najibullah Haqqani, and Qari Salahuddin Ayubi. During the inauguration of the residential township, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi announced that similar land distribution efforts would be expanded to all provinces across the country to support returning citizens. He also used the occasion to criticize the treatment of migrants in the neighboring country.

Officials reported that more than five million citizens have returned to Afghanistan. However, there are conflicting reports regarding the timeframe of these returns; Bakhtar News reports the returns occurred over the past three years, while RTA states the period was five years.

The launch of this new settlement phase is intended to provide essential basic services and permanent housing for the thousands of families returning to the region. This effort is part of a broader strategy to integrate returnees into the local economy and provide them with the necessary resources to sustain their livelihoods.
