The Iran Human Rights Organization has reported the execution of Afghan national Homayoun Noorzai on drug trafficking charges. Noorzai was arrested nineteen months ago at the Milak border and was sentenced to death by a Revolutionary Court.
The organization also reported that Baloch citizen Hossein Yousefzai was executed in Zahedan prison after serving twenty seven years on drug charges. The two executions occurred simultaneously.
Iranian authorities have not confirmed the executions. The reports come amid an increase in executions of Afghan prisoners in Iran since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan. At least seven hundred ninety five people were executed in Iran on drug charges in two thousand twenty five, a fifty seven percent increase from the previous year.

Reliability assessment
Single outlet reports the executions based on Iran Human Rights Organization statement with specific names, locations and timelines, but the underlying events remain unconfirmed by any Iranian official sources or additional independent outlets
The source language mixes facts with framing or advocacy wording. Afghanistan International: "brutal crackdown" is not present but the phrasing "increased the execution of Afghan prisoners" and "continuously increased" frames the Islamic Republic's actions with negative judgment; the selective focus on unconfirmed executions and linking to Taliban return adds mild advocacy tone.
