Saudi Arabia calls US ambassador's remarks on Israel's Middle East control irresponsible
The Saudi Foreign Ministry stated that comments by the US ambassador to Israel suggesting Israel's control over the Middle East is acceptable are irresponsible and violate international law.
In a statement released on Saturday, February 21, the ministry said the remarks breach the UN Charter and international laws, posing serious consequences for global peace and security. It urged the United States to clarify its official stance on the issue.
"Such statements, especially when made by a US official, create a dangerous precedent and indicate disregard for the respected relations between the countries of the region and the United States," the ministry said.
Saudi Arabia further emphasized that any actions undermining countries' sovereignty, borders, and territorial integrity are unacceptable. It reiterated that the only path to just and comprehensive peace is ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
