A high-level Saudi delegation has arrived in Kabul to address tensions between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Pakistan, holding consultations with several senior officials, including the minister of defense.

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, stated that the emirate released three Pakistani prisoners captured on October 12, 2025, during clashes with Pakistan. The prisoners were handed over to the Saudi delegation as a positive response to Riyadh's request. Mujahid noted that Saudi Arabia hosted the fourth round of talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

This move comes amid fragile relations between Kabul and Islamabad. Saudi Arabia, which recently signed a security and defense pact with Pakistan, is seen by political experts as playing a key role in de-escalation.

Kamran Aman, a political analyst, said: "This is their duty because they signed a security pact with Pakistan recently. My suggestion to the Islamic Emirate is that whenever there is a problem with Pakistan and violation of diplomatic principles by Pakistan occurs, they should complain to Saudi Arabia."

Hadi Qureshi, another political analyst, added: "The problem should be solved with the cooperation of friendly countries like Saudi Arabia and the Gulf and Muslim countries."
