Second Round of Political Consultations Between Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Russia Held in Kabul

The second round of political consultations between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Russia took place in Kabul on recent days. This round follows an initial meeting and forms part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two parties.

The Afghan delegation was led by Abdul Hai Qanit, Director of the Third Political Department. On the Russian side, Alexei Pavlovsky, Head of the Second Asian Department, participated as co-chair. The level of the meeting was described as involving department heads or deputy ministers.

Discussions during the consultations centered on several key areas. These included the expansion of bilateral relations between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Russia. Regional stability and security issues were examined in detail. Economic cooperation was another important subject, with emphasis on trade, investment opportunities, and the development of transit corridors. Regional connectivity was also discussed as a means to enhance ties.

Furthermore, the two sides explored ways to coordinate their positions in regional and international organizations. The consultations concluded with an agreement to continue the process on a regular basis.

The third round of political consultations is planned to be held in Moscow. Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, serving as the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, announced the details of the meeting.
