KABUL — Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Works announced that several roads have been temporarily closed to traffic due to floods and landslides.
The affected routes include the Kabul-Jalalabad highway in the Tangi Gharo area, the Badghis-Herat route, the Badghis-Faryab route in Badghis province, the route through Roy Doab district in Samangan province, and the Fardous-Balcharagh route in Faryab province.
Ministry operational teams have started work to reopen the closed routes. Officials urged the public to avoid these routes until an official announcement confirms they are passable.
In addition, several other routes previously impacted have now been reopened. These include the Kunar-Nuristan highway, the route in Wama district of Nuristan province, the Maimana-Fardous route in Faryab province, and the route in Charsada district of Ghor province.
The closures come amid recent adverse weather conditions affecting multiple provinces, highlighting ongoing challenges for transportation infrastructure in the country.
