Southeast Zone Under-14 Football Competitions Begin in Logar
The Afghanistan Football Federation has launched under-14 football competitions in the southeast zone, hosted by Logar province.
Five teams are taking part in the tournament: Laghman Youth, Peace Paktia, Bastan Logar, Umid Watan Maidan Wardak, and Karwan Khost. A draw ceremony to set the schedule was held the day before the event started.
Matches on the opening day will feature Laghman Youth against Peace Paktia and Bastan Logar versus Umid Watan Maidan Wardak. The second day is scheduled to see Umid Watan Maidan Wardak play Karwan Khost and Bastan Logar face Peace Paktia.
The winner of the southeast zone tournament will qualify for the national under-14 zonal champions competition. This marks the latest in a series of such events, with previous rounds held in the northern, eastern, and central zones in Kabul.
The Afghanistan Football Federation says the competitions are intended to identify talented young players and support the development of grassroots football. By organizing these zonal tournaments, officials aim to strengthen the sport's foundation and provide opportunities for youth across different regions of the country.
