Street Concretization Project Launched in Zabul at Cost of Over 13 Million Afghanis
KALAT - Construction work on a new concrete street in Sink village, adjacent to the central part of Kalat in Zabul province, has officially started. The initiative is aimed at addressing long-standing infrastructure challenges in the area.
The street concretization project is valued at more than 13 million Afghanis. It is being funded by the International Organization for Migration. The new road will measure 1.32 kilometers long and 5.8 meters wide. Authorities have indicated that the work is scheduled to be finished in three months time.
Hassanullah Habibi, the Director of Urban Governance at the Kalat Municipality, spoke about the launch. He explained that the project is intended to strengthen the urban infrastructure and to improve the quality of services provided to the residents of the area.
Separately, Mullah Abdulkarim Mardan, who heads the Economy Department in Zabul, has welcomed the start of the project. Mardan emphasized the need for donors to support more such sustainable projects that can benefit the province in the long term.
Local residents have voiced their approval of the development. They are particularly pleased that the concrete street will help overcome the difficulties caused by muddy roads in the winter season, which have hampered movement and daily activities.
This street project adds to a number of other construction activities that are presently taking place across Zabul province. These various projects have been successful in creating job opportunities for hundreds of local workers, according to officials.
With these initiatives, the province is gradually seeing improvements in its physical infrastructure while also boosting the local economy through employment generation. The positive reactions from both officials and the public suggest that there is strong support for continued development efforts of this nature.
