Supreme Leader Lays Foundation Stone for New Eid Prayer Ground in Helmand

The Supreme Leader, referred to as Amir al-Mu'minin, laid the foundation stone for a new Eid prayer ground in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province. The ceremony, held on May 9, addressed a longstanding local request for a standardized facility to host major religious gatherings.

According to project plans, the new Eidgah will be equipped with comprehensive amenities to accommodate thousands of worshippers. Bakhtar News places the construction site in the Safiyano area near the city’s seventh zone, while RTA refers to the broader Safiyan district. Helmand Governor Hajji Mawlawi Amanullah Mansour, alongside provincial security commanders and other local officials, was present at the event.

During the ceremony, the Supreme Leader emphasized the administration’s commitment to improving citizens' living standards and advancing public welfare. He urged residents to actively protect public infrastructure and maintain newly developed facilities. The leader also highlighted the importance of national unity, describing the construction project as part of ongoing efforts to deliver essential services to the community.

The development of the prayer ground is intended to provide a dedicated, standardized space for Eid prayers and other large-scale religious observances in the region. Officials stated that the facility will be designed to meet modern capacity and accessibility requirements. The initiative reflects continued efforts to expand religious and civic infrastructure across southern Afghanistan.
