The Taliban has canceled the media license previously registered under Mohammad Mohaqiq for Radio and Television Rah-e-Farda. A new license has been issued to Salman Akhlaqi, with Abdul Rahman Mirzad named as the responsible manager.

The decision was made jointly by the Ministry of Information and Culture and the Taliban's General Directorate of Intelligence. It is documented and signed by Maulvi Safiullah Raed.

Rah-e-Farda TV was suspended last year in the month of Hoot. The suspension stemmed from ownership issues and statements by Mohaqiq critical of the Taliban concerning its clashes with Pakistan. The outlet's assets were confiscated at that time.

The new license allows the channel to resume operations.
