
Taliban Foreign Minister Muttaqi Criticizes US, Israeli Attacks on Iran as Harmful to Region
KABUL (Afghan Verified) — Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Alireza Bikdeli, charge d'affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Kabul, to discuss bilateral relations, regional issues and the situation between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Muttaqi stated that recent US and Israeli attacks on Iran are detrimental to the stability of the entire region. He praised Iran's stance on tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan and stressed the need to resolve disputes through negotiations and constructive dialogue.
The two sides highlighted growing trade ties and positive bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Iran. Muttaqi emphasized Iran's support for a peaceful resolution to Afghanistan-Pakistan issues.
Bikdeli affirmed Iran's commitment to bilateral cooperation and expressed support for resolving regional tensions peacefully. He noted that Iran's leadership is closely following developments between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
According to Amu TV, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif warned of resuming military action if third-party talks fail, while a joint peace jirga is planned in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in two days. Amu TV also reported that Muttaqi urged the UAE Foreign Minister to prioritize dialogue in resolving Pakistan tensions, stating no attack would go unanswered.
