Senior Taliban figure Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has advocated for visa-free travel arrangements between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan as part of efforts to bolster ties with the Central Asian nation. In his remarks, he noted that the Taliban places special importance on developing relations with Uzbekistan and seeks to expand cooperation with neighbors on the basis of good faith.

To help address challenges in the relationship, a special committee has been set up. This committee is led by the governor of Balkh and will focus on examining problems and finding solutions for smoother Afghanistan-Uzbekistan relations.

During his address, Baradar extended an invitation to Afghan investors and traders who are currently based abroad. He guaranteed that they would have peace of mind when making investments in Afghanistan, regardless of the sector chosen.

In addition to these statements, Baradar performed the inauguration of the fifth section of the Mazar-i-Sharif-Hairatan railway. This part of the project is located in Balkh province and was finished with a budget of 6.3 million dollars provided by the Afghan Ministry of Public Works. The work was carried out through a contract involving Uzbekistan. Officials from the Taliban, the Uzbek government, and local bodies were present at the ceremony.
