Trump: Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan was 'shameful'

Kabul (Hasht-e Subh) - U.S. President Donald Trump criticized former President Joe Biden's management of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, calling it "shameful."

On Friday night, February 13, 2026, in North Carolina, Trump stated that his administration would never have left military equipment behind. He emphasized that it would have withdrawn "with honor and strength" and would not have fled from anyone.

Trump questioned why planes did not depart from Afghanistan and stressed that jets and military equipment should have been transferred out.

He added that the U.S. Army was rebuilt during his first term and is now the strongest army in the world.

These comments were made while Trump praised the operation to detain Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, describing it as an "extraordinary military operation."

U.S. forces withdrew from Afghanistan in August 2021 after nearly 20 years of war. Biden oversaw the final stages of the withdrawal, during which the Taliban took control of the country.

The process was accompanied by a suicide bombing at Kabul's airport, which killed 13 U.S. service members and about 170 Afghan civilians.
