Trump Urges Allies Facing Jet Fuel Shortages to Buy from US or Secure Supplies Themselves

US President Donald Trump urged allies unable to obtain jet fuel due to issues in the Strait of Hormuz to either buy from the United States or secure it themselves.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated Iran is "practically down" amid escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf, including tanker attacks and military exchanges that have disrupted maritime traffic and driven up oil prices.

The Pentagon clarified there is no shift in US policy, with priorities remaining on freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, emergency planning and diplomacy.

Regional incidents include Iranian forces targeting a Kuwaiti tanker off the Dubai coast and setting it on fire; the fire was contained with no oil spill or injuries reported.

The UAE Ministry of Defense said it intercepted and responded to Iranian missiles and drones.

Saudi Arabia reported nighttime drone attacks.

Iran's Foreign Minister stated the attacks targeted US-related objectives, not "brotherly" countries.

Central Israel was hit by multiple attacks with casualties reported. Israel conducted strikes on government infrastructure in Tehran.

The Israeli army conducted operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, destroying weapons depots and command centers, with three more Israeli soldiers killed.
