Two Individuals Executed in Iran Over Alleged Mossad Links
Iranian authorities have executed two men for their alleged links to the Israeli intelligence agency known as Mossad.
Mohammad Masoum Shahi and Hamid Walidi were put to death on Monday morning, judicial officials said. The executions followed the confirmation of their death sentences by the Supreme Court.
The charges against the two included cooperating with a spy network associated with Mossad. They were said to have received training that was intended for the purpose of carrying out attacks as well as sabotage activities in Iran.
During their arrest, the individuals were found to be in possession of explosive materials. These materials were apparently meant to be used in attacks that the two had planned to conduct in the city of Tehran.
The Supreme Court played a key role in the process by confirming the sentences after the legal proceedings had run their course. Only after this confirmation were the executions able to take place on the morning of the specified day.
Details of the entire case, including the executions, were shared with the public through the Tasnim news agency. The agency attributed the information to the judicial authorities of the country.
The two individuals were identified as Mohammad Masoum Shahi and Hamid Walidi. They faced the charges of receiving training for attacks and sabotage before their arrest with the explosive materials.
