Two Killed, Three Injured in Farah Traffic Collision
A traffic collision in western Afghanistan has left two people dead and three others seriously injured, provincial authorities confirmed. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Ab Khurma area of Farah Rod district, involving a passenger car and a transport vehicle.
The Farah provincial police headquarters issued a statement confirming the crash and noting that security personnel arrived at the scene to manage traffic and coordinate emergency response. The injured individuals were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Officials reported that the deceased included one woman, though their names have not been released.
This incident follows another fatal crash in the region just two days earlier, which claimed four lives in Farah city. Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the Wednesday collision, but an investigation is currently underway to establish whether mechanical failure, road conditions, or driver error contributed to the accident.
Provincial traffic officials have reiterated calls for motorists to observe speed limits and ensure vehicles are properly maintained. Road safety remains a pressing public concern in the province, with local authorities emphasizing the need for stricter adherence to traffic laws to reduce the frequency of fatal incidents on regional highways.
