UAE Suspends All Visa Categories for Iranian Nationals Over Security Concerns
DUBAI (Afghan Verified) -- The United Arab Emirates has suspended all visa categories for Iranian nationals, including visit, tourist, residency, and transit visas, due to security concerns amid heightened regional tensions.
Flydubai stated that the restrictions apply to Iranian nationals holding Iranian passports, even those possessing UAE visit, tourist, and residency documents. The measures also affect transit passengers using Dubai as a connecting hub.
Limited exceptions are permitted, including for certain family members of UAE citizens and specific visa categories that receive prior approval.
The decision has led to uncertainty and confusion among Iranians, particularly those involved in business, medical, and family travel. Some Iranians living in or linked to the UAE have been unable to board flights or return to Dubai.
This suspension occurs against a backdrop of reduced airline schedules and heightened security measures due to ongoing regional conflict.
