US Army Awards Lockheed Martin Contract Worth Up to $58.6 Billion for Patriot Missiles

The US Army has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract valued at up to $58.6 billion to produce Patriot missile interceptors over a seven-year period from fiscal 2026 to 2032.
The agreement expands a previous one-year deal worth $4.7 billion signed in April. The Pentagon seeks to replenish air-defense stocks depleted by conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine.
Lockheed Martin plans to triple production of PAC-3 MSE interceptors, reaching approximately 2,000 units annually by the end of 2030. The company will invest between $8 billion and $9 billion to modernize and expand its US facilities.
Estimates from the Center for Strategic and International Studies indicate the United States currently holds fewer than 1,000 Patriot interceptors and fewer than 250 THAAD interceptors.
