US Senator Chris Coons Blames Trump's 'Elective' War on Iran for Higher American Costs
US Democratic Senator Chris Coons has warned that President Donald Trump's "elective" war against Iran is driving up prices for food, utilities and mortgages in the United States.
In a post on his X social media page, Coons wrote: "It's not just the price of oil; it's also the price of food, water and electricity bills, and even mortgage loans."
Coons stated that American families are paying the price for Trump's war against Iran. He described the conflict as an unnecessary choice that has led to broader economic pressures on everyday Americans.
Coons also noted that many Americans oppose the attack on Iran, believing it primarily benefits Israel.
The senator's comments highlight domestic concerns over the financial fallout from the US military action against Iran. Coons, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, used his platform to draw attention to how the war's repercussions extend beyond energy markets to essential household expenses.
