US Vice President Vance Travels to Pakistan for High-Level Talks with Iran
U.S. Vice President JD Vance has departed Washington for Pakistan to participate in high-level talks between the United States and Iran.
The discussions, hosted by Pakistan, aim to ease escalating tensions through direct bilateral engagement. Key agenda items include Iran's nuclear program, sanctions relief and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.
Vance stated that the U.S. is pursuing "positive" and constructive negotiations but will not tolerate delays, deflection or misleading statements from Tehran.
U.S. officials said Vance will meet key diplomatic and security figures to coordinate positions ahead of the talks.
Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have surged amid disputes over regional security, recent military actions and geopolitical rivalries. Pakistan is hosting the talks as part of its growing diplomatic role, following its mediation of a temporary ceasefire.
Both sides expressed interest in a positive outcome amid regional uncertainties.
