Uzbek Consul General Condemns Reported Pakistani Attack on Kabul Hospital
ISTANBUL (Afghan Verified) -- Uzbekistan's Consul General in Istanbul, Shirzad Abdulnazarov, condemned a reported Pakistani attack on civilian areas in Kabul, particularly a drug treatment hospital, describing it as contrary to principles of good neighborliness and deeply regrettable.
The remarks came during a meeting with Mohammad Akbar Azimi, Consul General of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Istanbul. The two officials discussed strengthening historical, political, economic and cultural ties between their countries.
Azimi briefed Abdulnazarov on alleged Pakistani attacks on Afghan territory, especially those targeting healthcare facilities, which he characterized as criminal acts.
Abdulnazarov expressed concern over the strikes on civilian sites. According to RTA, he offered condolences to victims' families, prayers for the souls of the martyrs and wishes for recovery to the wounded.
Pajhwok reported that the airstrike on the Kabul hospital killed 400 patients and injured about 250 others, referring to it as a drug treatment hospital. RTA identified the facility as Omid Hospital but provided no casualty figures.
