White House Spokesperson: Trump Will 'Never' Accept Iran's Demands as Agreement

White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt stated during a press briefing that President Trump will "never" accept Iran's list of demands as an agreement, describing reports to the contrary as "completely baseless."

Leavitt reiterated that U.S. red lines, including the end of Iran's uranium enrichment inside the country, remain unchanged. She said Trump would only accept an agreement serving U.S. interests, with the negotiating team focusing efforts over the next two weeks provided the Strait of Hormuz remains open. Sensitive negotiations will take place behind closed doors during this period.

Iran has confirmed that talks will begin Saturday in Islamabad between an Iranian delegation led by Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and a U.S. delegation led by Vice President Jidiyuns, with two weeks allocated for discussions.

Leavitt emphasized that the recently announced 15-day ceasefire does not signify the end of the war, noting that the announcement coincided with ongoing shootings in the Middle East.

Separately, Trump criticized NATO in a social media statement and referenced Greenland.

Iranian official Abbas Araghchi stated that the U.S. must choose between a ceasefire and continuing the war "through Israel."
