Taliban Claim Pakistan Attacks Killed 761 Civilians, Wounded 626
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Mullah Hamdullah Futrat, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, stated that Pakistani air and artillery attacks from February 22 to April 4, 2026, killed 761 civilians and wounded 626 others across nine Afghan provinces.
Futrat's statement, published on X and reported by multiple outlets, detailed strikes in provinces including Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Laghman and Nuristan. Three outlets reported attacks also affected Ghazni, while others included Kunar.
The Taliban reported extensive destruction, including 34 mosques, 42 vehicles and 661 livestock killed. Three sources cited 1,140 houses and 27,407 families displaced, along with damage to shops, schools and madrasas, though exact figures varied. Amu TV specified Pakistan fired 14,973 mortars and missiles.
Hurriyat reported the deadliest incident as an attack on the Rozi Madani drug treatment center in Kabul, killing 411 and wounding 265. Pakistani officials asserted the strikes targeted military centers, according to Amu TV. The same outlet cited Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch suggesting some strikes, including on the Kabul facility, may constitute war crimes.
Hasht-e Subh reported both sides have confirmed delegations are negotiating in China to reduce tensions after over a month of clashes.
