Two Irrigation and Flood-Prevention Projects Completed in Zabul

Maulvi Hikmatullah Rahbar, head of the Zabul Department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, said two irrigation and flood-prevention projects have been completed in the Shajoy district.
The projects were finished on 8 Asad 1405 under the department's supervision and received funding from the United Nations Development Programme totaling 5,543,537 Afghanis.
Work included construction of a 120-meter retaining wall, a 280-meter irrigation canal and cleaning of an 800-meter canal.
Rahbar stated that the projects will improve water access for local farmers and provide employment to dozens of people in the area.
The initiatives focus on better management of water resources for agricultural lands in Zabul province.
