
14-Year-Old Zonal Football Competitions Begin in Northern Afghanistan
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- The country's football federation announced that zonal football competitions for 14-year-old teams began in northern Afghanistan on Friday, 21 Hamal.
In the opening matches, the Jowzjan Solidarity youth team defeated Sar-e Pol Hope 10-2, while Faryab Bastan beat Azadi Novin Samangan 2-0.
The federation stated that the competitions aim to identify top football talents among 14-year-olds and develop young players. Champion teams from the zonal events will qualify for the national zonal championships.
Participating teams include Arman Balkh, Omid Sar-e Pol, Azadi Novin Samangan, Faryab Bastan and Jowzjan Solidarity youth.
The football federation is covering all costs for the competitions and the participating teams.
