Abdul Wahid, a 61-year-old man, has been missing since last Wednesday in Kabul. Known as Beryali, Wahid is originally from Rakha in Panjshir province and resided in the Parwan II area of the capital.

Reports indicate that Wahid disappeared around 8:00 AM on Wednesday. He is described as an ordinary citizen and a shop owner operating in the center of Kabul province, with no known threats against him. His mobile phone was last tracked in the Company area of Kabul before it was switched off.

The disappearance of Abdul Wahid is being highlighted alongside other recent missing persons cases across Afghanistan. In Kabul, a young girl reportedly disappeared in the 11th district. Additionally, two children were reported missing in Takhar province a few days ago.

These incidents are part of a broader reported trend of increasing disappearances and targeted killings occurring across various provinces in Afghanistan.

Reliability assessment

The report is based on a single source citing unnamed 'sources' and family members. While the report provides concrete details (name, age, specific neighborhoods), there is no official confirmation or corroboration from a second independent outlet to verify the existence of these disappearances.

The source language mixes facts with framing or advocacy wording. Hasht-e Subh: "targeted killings... have increased": This phrase frames the specific disappearance within a broader narrative of systemic violence without citing specific statistics or official reports in the text.

Independent web corroboration
