Taliban intelligence forces arrested at least seven civilians in lower Yaftal district of Badakhshan province on charges of cooperating with or knowing about the activities of the Homeland Army group.
The detainees were taken into custody on 8 Asad and are being held at the intelligence detention center in Faizabad. The Homeland Army had briefly seized the lower Yaftal district center on 26 Cancer, disarming Taliban personnel and raising its flag before withdrawing.
Separately, a rocket struck a Taliban checkpoint in the Dourahi Argo area of Faizabad last night, followed by sporadic gunfire. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Sporadic clashes between Taliban forces and the Freedom Front continue in Zebak district, where the Taliban have deployed a large force. The Taliban are also preparing military operations against opponents in the province.

Reliability assessment
Single source only; all claims based on anonymous local residents and informed sources with no named officials or independent corroboration
The source language mixes facts with framing or advocacy wording. Afghanistan International: "caused widespread harassment and persecution", "deprived people of peace" — these phrases frame the Taliban's security operations with strong negative emotional language implying systematic oppression rather than neutral law enforcement.
Independent web corroboration
An independent web search turned up no separate corroborating reports. Treat the account as single-sourced until more outlets pick it up.
