Afghan and Iranian Officials Meet to Expand Mining Cooperation

Officials from Afghanistan and Iran have come together to emphasize the expansion of cooperation in the mining sector. The meeting involved Abdul Rahman Qanit, the Deputy Minister for Policy and Programs at the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan, and Ali Reza Bikdeli, who serves as the Iranian ambassador in Kabul.

During their discussions, the focus was on increasing technical and economic ties, especially in the areas of mineral exploration, extraction, and investment. The participants stressed the importance of carrying out the agreements that were established following a recent visit by an Afghan delegation to Iran.

The Iranian ambassador made reference to the recent trip and underlined the necessity of implementing the agreements made by the technical cooperation committee. In turn, Abdul Rahman Qanit expressed his welcome for ongoing joint cooperation and committed the ministry to providing support for the realization of these agreements.

The dialogue between the two officials is part of efforts to advance bilateral relations in the field of mining. Both sides see value in working together on projects related to Afghanistan's mines through shared technical knowledge and economic initiatives.
