The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan hosted a trade networking and business conference in Kabul featuring a delegation from Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan. The event was organized to strengthen economic relations and facilitate practical business cooperation between the two regions.

As a result of the conference, the private sectors of Afghanistan and Karakalpakstan signed 13 trade agreements with a total estimated value of over $100 million. These agreements encompass various industrial projects and commercial exchanges, including the construction of an iron factory. The terms of the agreements include the import of oil, cement, iron, and macaroni into Afghanistan, as well as the export of Afghan agricultural products such as cumin, potatoes, pomegranates, and apples.

Minister of Industry and Commerce Nuruddin Azizi stated that economic relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have evolved toward the implementation of joint projects and the achievement of tangible economic results.

Amanbai Orinbayov, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, reported that the trade volume between Afghanistan and Karakalpakstan has reached approximately $15 million. He further noted that this trade volume has doubled annually over the past three years.
