KABUL (Afghan Verified) — The Afghanistan Freedom Front issued a statement on X on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, congratulating Afghan citizens and accusing the Taliban of relocating members of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to government buildings and crowded neighborhoods.

The group described the use of public places and civilians as shelters and human shields as one of the Taliban's longstanding approaches. It criticized Taliban leaders for claiming "iron security" while Afghanistan faces Pakistani air and artillery attacks, instead resorting to concealment and false propaganda campaigns to deceive the public.

"Taliban leaders, instead of explaining the reasons, factors, and consequences of these events, have resorted to concealment and launching false propaganda campaigns to deceive minds and incite public emotions toward their own goals," the statement said.

The Freedom Front condemned the killing of civilians and innocents in any circumstance and called on impartial international institutions to investigate the incidents. It urged Afghan citizens not to fall for Taliban propaganda while seeking justice and sympathizing with victims.

The statement came amid reports that Pakistan targeted a drug rehabilitation hospital in Kabul last Monday. According to Taliban figures, the attack killed 400 people and wounded 250 others.

Reliability assessment

Two outlets (Hasht-e Subh, Afghanistan International) corroborate the Afghanistan Freedom Front's on-record statement on X accusing the Taliban of relocating TTP members to government buildings and crowded areas as human shields.

The source language mixes facts with framing or advocacy wording. Hasht-e Subh: "using public places and civilians as shelters and human shields is one of the Taliban’s longstanding approaches" - advocacy phrasing accusing Taliban of systematic war crime tactics; "false propaganda campaigns to deceive minds and incite public emotions" - opinionated judgment on Taliban motives; "Taliban leader speaks of 'iron security' while Afghanistan is under Pakistani air and artillery attacks" - emotional framing contrasting claims with reality to undermine credibility.
