
Afghanistan Under-17 Football Team to Face Kyrgyzstan in Uzbekistan Regional Tournament
TASHKENT, Uzbekistan — The Afghanistan Under-17 national football team is participating in a regional tournament in Uzbekistan alongside teams from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
The Afghan side is set to begin its campaign tomorrow against Kyrgyzstan. Head coach Ali-Ahmad Yarzadeh said the players are fully prepared for the match following training sessions in Tashkent and expressed hope for a strong performance as they aim for the championship.
Assistant coach Farid Usmani stated that the Afghanistan Football Federation made extensive efforts to assemble and send the team to the competition, with players having undergone preparation in Tashkent.
Before the start of the matches, a press conference was held for the coaches, and a coordination meeting took place for tournament officials.
The squad comprises 20 players, including goalkeeper Omid Mohammadi, defenders Ahmad Wali Habibi, Ehsanullah Hemat, and others such as midfielders and forwards listed by the coaching staff.
This regional event provides an opportunity for young Afghan talents to compete internationally and gain experience against regional rivals.
