
Afghanistan's new cricket head coach Richard Pybus arrives in Kabul
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Richard Pybus, the newly appointed head coach of Afghanistan's national cricket team, arrived in Kabul for the first time to attend the team's training camp and meet with officials.
Pybus was welcomed by Nasib Khan, executive director of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, according to Ariana News. He held meetings with officials from the selection committee, domestic and international cricket departments, and the high-performance center. Pybus also met with national team captains Hashmatullah Shahidi and Ibrahim Zadran.
The discussions focused on upcoming matches and fixtures, team strategies and planning, as well as preparations for the training camp, the sources said.
A one-month training camp for around 40 players is scheduled to begin on April 12 and run until May 16. The camp will be supervised by the high-performance center and the head coach.
Pajhwok Afghan News reported that the camp is in preparation for a Test match and a three-match ODI series against India. Pajhwok added that Pybus was appointed head coach in February.
