Approximately 7 Percent Increase in Mehtarlam Municipality Revenues

The Mehtarlam Municipality has recorded an increase in its revenue collection for the solar year 1404.

According to the mayor, the total revenues for the year reached 106 million Afghanis. This is approximately 7 percent more than the 99 million Afghanis that were collected in the solar year 1403.

Mayor Maulvi Nazar Mohammad Atiq, who provided these figures, pointed to several reasons for the positive development. He mentioned that the municipality has expanded its activities in the recent period. Additionally, the implementation of transparent methods in collecting the revenues has played a role. The efforts of the municipal staff were also credited for contributing to this achievement.

The sources of the revenue include rents collected from markets and shops, as well as fees from gates, permits and various urban services provided by the municipality.

In terms of how the collected money was used, the mayor indicated that 88 million Afghanis were allocated and spent on different projects. The remaining funds have been deposited into the government treasury.
