Around 300 Shops Closed in Nimroz for Hoarding and Overpricing
Around 300 shops in Nimroz province's capital and districts were closed over the past month for hoarding and overpricing, according to Commerce and Industry Director Mawlawi Mohammad Qasim Mohammad. The anti-hoarding committee seized five tonnes of expired goods during Ramadan monitoring, destroying three tonnes so far.

ZARANJ, Afghanistan (Afghan Verified) -- Around 300 shops in Nimroz province's capital and districts have been closed over the past month due to hoarding and overpricing, Mawlawi Mohammad Qasim Mohammad, director of commerce and industry, said.
The anti-hoarding committee has carried out continuous market monitoring since the start of Ramadan, he added.
During the inspections, the committee seized five tonnes of expired and low-quality goods. Three tonnes have already been destroyed, with the remaining two tonnes set to be destroyed soon, Mohammad stated.
The director urged traders to comply with official prices to ensure affordability for residents.
Local residents have reported that rising prices have made essential goods difficult to afford. They called for stricter enforcement of price controls.
