Officials from the Balkh Provincial Police Command announced the formation of a 1,000-strong unit under the command of the provincial commander at the level of the North Zone.

Experienced and professional forces have been recruited into the unit, which will focus on serving and defending the country and its people, the officials said.

Mohammad Eisa Vaseq, spokesperson for the Balkh Provincial Police Command, stated: "The mentioned unit is being prepared to serve the people, in which experienced mujahideen will be included. We assure all compatriots that, God willing, with the formation of this unit in the North Zone, security will be better ensured."

Residents of Balkh welcomed the initiative, pledging their support and cooperation with the unit. They also called for further expansion and better equipping of the military unit.

Military experts described the creation of such units as effective for conducting special operations, securing major cities and guarding important borders. They emphasized the need for enhanced equipping of these forces.

Ghulam Sarwar Niazi, a military expert, said: "This unit will be created as an anticipated unit or in an operational manner, which will be used for urgent cases, especially if there is a problem at the borders or chaos in a province."

The Balkh Provincial Police Commander had traveled to Jowzjan province a few days earlier to improve coordination, identify experienced individuals and meet with local officials.
