Belarus-Afghanistan trade volume reaches $200 million annually, Belarus FM says

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov stated in a television interview that trade volume between Belarus and Afghanistan reached more than $200 million last year.

Ryzhenkov, speaking to Belarus-1 channel according to Afghanistan International and to the ON network per RTA, said Uzbekistan has become a key gateway for Belarusian trade with Afghanistan. He noted that Afghanistan faces difficult relations with Pakistan, while Iran is preoccupied with its Middle Eastern issues, making Uzbekistan the primary route. Uzbek partners provide assistance, including supplying products to Afghanistan.

Ryzhenkov highlighted that last year, Belarus conducted over $200 million in trade with Afghanistan. RTA reported that following the return of the Islamic Emirate, Afghanistan's commercial relations with many countries have significantly expanded.

The two outlets reported slight variations in phrasing, with Afghanistan International citing exactly $200 million and RTA stating over $200 million.
